Bio:

Originally from Syracuse, NY, Coach Chris started his gymnastics training at age 9 with West Side Gymnastics. After winning many awards and medals throughout his years with West Side, Chris left at age 14 as a level 3 optional when he started school at East Syracuse –Minoa HS. There he became MVP of the Boys Gymnastics Team, County Pommel Horse Champion and Section 3 Floor Champion. Coach Chris then put himself through college by working as a gymnastics instructor at CNY Gymnastics Center, New Generation Gymnastics, Champions For Life, Director of Clay Gymnastics Center and Co-Head Coach of the Girl’s Varsity Gymnastics Team of Central Square HS. Upon finishing college with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Oswego State University of NY, Coach Chris moved to Tampa, FL where he became Tumbling Director of Cheer Champs and 3rd Grade Fuse teacher for 4 years at Sulphur Springs Elementary and 1 year at Mort Elementary.  Chris received the Golden Educators award at Sulphur Springs Elementary, a Fuse Classroom Co-Teaching award for excellent performance, and the Principles Award for high performance based on classroom FCAT math scores. Coach Chris has developed a proven system of coaching/teaching that allows for each child to grow at his/her own pace in the areas that he/she needs most work on. “By teaching to the “individual” I am able to get more results from each child which makes the group grow as a whole both in the classroom and in the gym.” Through the economic hardships, Coach Chris was driven to make his dream of starting a Sports Academy come true. Although faced with many adversities in the beginning, Coach Chris has developed and grown Xcel 360 into the Academy you see today! “We will continue to grow into one of the world’s leading Sports Training facilities!”

Coached All Levels of Tumbling from Parent & Tot Classes to Advanced Levels of Gymnastics, Cheer, Free Running, Parkour, Martial Arts, Tricking and Dance/Acro tumbling.

Throughout the years Chris has coached many teams and individuals into winning a variety of State & National Championship titles.

Through Champions For Life, Coach Chris worked with Children with varying abilities/ special needs. Chris worked one on one with children with different levels of Autism, Aspergers, Down Syndrome, Osteogenesis imperfecta (Britle Bone Disease)… etc. Chris worked with each child and worked on individualized skills that would directly benefit the growth and health of these children. While at Champions For Life, Chris worked under renowned Coach and President of Champions For Life… Michael Henty a former and Author of “Go For God’s Gold.” Michael Henty was a former Junior Olympic Coach as well.

Coach Chris was a coach and Director of the 1st All Star Gym to make its way into Pasco County, Cheer Champs! When he left Cheer Champs to pursue other career opportunities, most of Chris’s athletes moved on to cheer for Brandon All Stars because of the proximity of the gym and the kids’ skill levels/abilities. A good number of those kids have competed at Worlds over the past few years and gone on to Cheer in College as well!

Jennifer Mitchell originally from West Chester, OH, has an extensive Background in Cheerleading and Education. Jennifer is currently the Cheer Director at Xcel 360, Varsity Cheer Coach for Mitchell High School and Spanish Teacher/ Department Head at Mitchell High School. Jennifer has over 15 years of cheerleading experience!

Jennifer got her start in coaching when she interned at Dunbar High School volunteering under coaches Donna Martin and Saleem of the Lifetime Television show Cheerleader Nation, a docu-soap that highlights the ups and downs of Kentucky’s Dunbar High School cheerleading squad. UCA National Champions in the Large Varsity Division (all girls) in 1995, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011. They are the only squad to ever be national champions 5 times in a row. UCA National Runners-Up in 1994, 2002, 2003 and Third Place in 1993 & 2009, Cheersports National Champions in 2003, and KAPOS State Champions in 1994, 1997, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008,2009, and 2010. They have been nationally ranked for twelve years and have been featured in American Cheerleader magazine. Donna Martin has coached the squad since the school opened in 1990. She has been elected to American Cheerleader’s Who’s Who of Cheerleading and has coached cheerleading for 17 years.

In 2001, MTV’s True Life series prominently featured Dunbar’s cheerleading team in the episode “I’m a Cheerleader.”

On November 28, 2005, Lifetime Television announced a reality series featuring the PLD cheerleaders. “Cheerleader Nation” premiered in early 2006. The television show had very high ratings…

Former Dunbar cheerleaders have gone on to cheer for the University of Kentucky, University of Louisville, Morehead State University, Western Kentucky University, Ohio State University, University of Cincinnati, Indiana University, and many other colleges.

Marvin Ross

Bio:

Marvin Ross has worked with Xcel 360 since 2009 as a Parkour Instructor/Director, Cheer Coach and a well sought out Tumbling Instructor. Marvin Ross has been a Parkour Athlete (Traceur) for over 5 years. He Originally Studied under and trained with World Renowned Daniel Arroyo. Marvin has since been featured on Mtv’s MADE, Redbull’s 1st American Art of Motion competition held in Ybor where he won the “Sickest Trick Award” in 2010 and then 2011 in Detroit where he won it again! Marvin is a sponsored athlete through WFPF (World Freerunning Parkour Federation) and a WFPF certified instructor through all levels Beginner – Advanced. Marvin also travels the country to train other instructors to obtain their certifications as well. You may have also seen Marvin featured in NERF commercials that air on Channels such as The Disney Channel. Marvin can be found in a number of highly viewed Parkour Youtube videos where Parkour as an Art/Sport spreads like wild fire!
